Carlos Santana is a musician who plays guitar. He is the front man of Santana, a band that mixes Rock and Latin American Jazz. The band itself has sold over 100 million records. 14 of their studio albums have made it to the top 10 in the Billboard Global 200. For reference, he has never once left the band, so he is probably the most responsible for it in general. He’s also an activist, for he and his family funded The Milagro Foundation. The Milagro Foundation helps children in impoverished areas of the world, via making grants to community based organizations. The funded organizations help with education, health, and art.
Carlos was born in Mexico on the 20th of July, 1947. He learned to play the violin at age five, and the guitar at age eight. He was taught by his dad, a mariachi musician. Carlos, at around eight, fell absolutely in love with the blues performers. In particular, he adored Gabor Szabo, as a matter of fact he was one of Carlos’ main inspirations. Later on in life (1966 to be precise) he officially began his career by starting the Santana blues band, later renamed to Santana. Later on, he and his family funded The Milagro Foundation in 1998, and is, as stated before, a foundation that helps local services in impoverished areas.
As stated above, Carlos is from Mexico. At some point when he was seven or eight, however, his family moved to San Francisco, California.
Carlos is realy good at his craft, and I mean, like REALLY GOOD. Like, really, really, REALLY GOOD. The fact that he didn't really take lessons, he just learned from his father and practiced, makes him an awe-inspiring inspiration. Not only that, he's also a generaly good guy. One of his more famous quotes is as follows: "The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart. The most powerful weapon you can be is an instrument of peace." In conclusion, Carlos is a just... a really cool guy!
