George Edward Lopez was born in Mission Hills, L.A. George Lopez is an American comedian and voice actor known for his multiple award nominee performances in things like the George Lopez Show, Lopez Tonight, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and The Spy Kids next Door, Best Comedy Album Tall, Dark and Chicano in 2009. He originally started out as a stand up comedian and then started acting a little later in life in the 2000s. Lopez’s early life wasn’t as hopeful though, when he was just two months old his father, Anatasio Lopez, abandoned him and mother when he was 10. George’s grandmother, Benita Gutierrez, and His Step-father, Refugio Gutierrez, took care of the soon to be legend. In 93’ Lopez got married to Ann Serrano and had a daughter, Mayan Lopez born in 96’, later in 2010 Lopez and Serrano got a divorce that surprised the comedians across the world. Starting off rough and having a few bumps in the road didn’t stop Lopez from giving the world a laugh, he claims, “When things are bad, it’s the best time to reinvent yourself” .
In 2000, Lopez was offered an acting position by Sandra Bullock for a comedy sit-com role after doing years of stand up comedy. Lopez said yes. This started his long, long journey of different roles, awards and eventually to meeting the love of his life. On March 27, 2002 The George Lopez Show aired its first episode with its star of the show George Lopez and many other Hispanic actors and actresses but, unfortunately in 2007 The George Lopez was cancelled after its 6th season. Later in 2013, George started his own sitcom on FX called Saint George and again, unfortunately it was cancelled after one season. This didn't discourage him; he kept starring in television shows and eventually starring in some hit films. Keeping up his success in November of 2009 Lopez Tonight is a hit late night talk show TV Land series that lasted until 2011 and in 2021 is currently on tour. George got into comedy because he was naturally gifted with it and now wants to share it with others.
